What Is the French Music Blog?
The French Music Blog spotlights the best in modern French music. My goal is to share the great contemporary French music I love with Americans and fellow English-speaking French music fans who might not otherwise hear it. I only feature French music that you can buy in the U.S. (You can also get most of what I feature in the UK, and some of it in Canada.) I started this blog because I thought that if I had an interest in modern French music, then other people might, too.
How’d I get into French music?
My obsession with modern French songs really began when Les Nubians’ song “Makeda” came out in 1998 and was played on American radio — which is extremely rare for a French song. Les Nubians’ all-French album Princesses Nubiennes completely turned soul and R&B music on its head. I was hooked.
